Aralia combines contemporary design with traditional Ecuadorian handmade craftsmanship. Our passion is to design unique products that include artisanal crafts from different regions of Ecuador.
We focus on helping local artisans prosper so their art can flourish and their traditions can be passed down through generations. It is important for us to keep craft local to their place of origin, therefore, we journey to where the artisans live.
Our artisans set the price themselves based on the amount of time and expertise each style takes to weave or embroider. Aralia was established by Vanessa Chiriboga, an Ecuadorian artist and designer, who creates exclusive and modern designs based on local heritage craft traditions. Each product is a piece of art and design, one of tradition, and filled with love.
Creative Director and Founder
Vanessa Chiriboga is a designer and artist from Quito, Ecuador. She started her studies at the Rhode Island school of Design with the desire to become a painter, during her studies she found a passion for combining her artistic creativity on wearable mediums through fashion. Aralia was launched in 2023, born out of the desire to highlight traditional Ecuadorian handmade craftsmanship with contemporary design. Each print tells a story of Vanessa’s upbringing surrounded by Ecuadorian natural beauty. The designs are all hand drawn and printed on organic linen fabrics and other natural materials. Aralia’s modern garments are defined by their unique hand made details, intricate prints and feminine silhouettes.
